The Physiotherapy Board wish to advise that at its February Board meeting, appointments for Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson were made as follows:

• Janice Mueller, Chairperson; and
• David Baxter, Deputy Chairperson

The Board has signed off on two new standards – Adverse event reporting, and Physiotherapists giving advice about medication:

• Adverse event reporting
• Physiotherapists giving advice about medication

These join our other standards in setting a minimum requirements for conduct and competence for the profession.

The decision document implementing these standards is here.

The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has published its decision following a hearing held at Christchurch in July 2019, and concerning a charge laid by the Director of Proceedings against Mr Peter William Chum, then a physiotherapist practising in Christchurch.
