Alert Level 2 – what we know so far

The Prime Minister has signaled that Level 2 may start as early as next Wednesday (13 May) and her Cabinet is meeting today to decide on what this will involve. With this change coming the issue of what Level 2 will look like is understandably top of mind for most primary care providers.  It is frustrating for us and the profession alike that there is currently only high-level guidance available. What an unbelievable time and what unbelievable sacrifices the profession has made since the Alert 4 lockdown.  We have had so many calls and emails from physiotherapists struggling with the restrictions – the financial, personal and professional stresses are huge.  Our hearts go out to you and those around you who are impacted by this pandemic.

Guidance on seeing patients during COVID Alert Level 3 (non-DHB)

This guide is provided for Physiotherapists working in a non-DHB environment. DHB’s will have their own set of guidelines and protocols that DHB physios will need to follow.

This is a living document and will be updated as information from the Ministry of Health is released during the Alert Level changes. Please check it regularly for updates and changes.

ACC Update – April 1

Kia ora,

As we head into week two under Alert Level 4, I want to acknowledge the pressure our frontline providers are under. These are extraordinary circumstances and we are conscious of the stresses the COVID-19 response is placing on physical and staffing resources, and workers themselves. Urgent Care Clinics are among those heavily impacted, and we are encouraging managers to reach out to us for support in meeting contractual requirements. (more…)
