Non Practising status

If you don’t want to apply for an Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) for a practising year but want to maintain your registration you can apply for Non Practising status.

Applying for Non Practising status will maintain your entry on the Register and means that you will continue to receive information and updates from the Board.

Holding Non Practising status means that you are not legally allowed to practise as a physiotherapist. Should you wish to return to practise at any point, you will need to apply for an Annual Practising Certificate before starting work.

Please note that you are legally required to be registered with the Board and hold an APC if you are employed in any Aotearoa | New Zealand based role (voluntary or paid) where your physiotherapy skills or knowledge are used, clinical or non clinical.
