The Professional Advisors at the Physiotherapy Board (the Board) provide leadership, advice, education and support to physiotherapists, and the team of staff who work for the Board. The range and scope of work is wide including registration, education disciplinary matters, recertification, accreditation and involvement in the continuous quality assurance programme.
You will work alongside the current Professional Advisor team, reporting to the Chief Professional Advisor and within a dynamic and enthusiastic team who are committed to the work of the Board.

What will you be doing?

- Developing and delivering educational resources for physiotherapists, contractors and staff
- Monitoring and moderation of Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) and Specialist Scopes of Practice Application process
- Providing leadership, support and clinical advice
- Advice regarding complaints and notifications from a clinical practise perspective
- Development and implementation of professional standards
- Assisting with registration and recertification
- Getting involved in, and as required, leading continuous quality improvements.
What are we looking for?
An exceptional physiotherapist who has experience in developing and delivery of educational resources with substantial clinical experience who will work collaboratively in our team.

Registration/Recertification Officer

The Physiotherapy Board regulates physiotherapists in New Zealand. Its purpose is to protect the health and safety of members of the public by ensuring that physiotherapists are competent and fit to practise their profession.
The Registration/Recertification Officer will support the Registrar and be responsible for processing new applications (including from international applicants) and Annual Practising Certificate applications, and for auditing practitioners’ continuing professional development under the Health Practitioners Competence Assurance Act.
Ideally you will have gained similar experience working for a health regulator or be a recent graduate with some work experience in a services or regulatory environment. You must be a person who has exceptional judgement and attention to detail. You will be technology savvy and be an effective communicator as you will engage directly with physiotherapists. This will require a calm and well-organised person who is happy to take on additional responsibility when required. A relevant tertiary qualification is ideal but not essential. A passion for public protection is an absolute requirement to be successful in this role.

EOI: Registration Assessors for the Advanced Practice Physiotherapist
The Physiotherapy Board is seeking motivated and experienced physiotherapists to join its casual pool of Registration Assessors for the Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) scope of practise. We are looking for people from a variety of clinical and cultural backgrounds and welcome all applications however in particular we are seeking Māori physiotherapists, Pasifika physiotherapist’s and those working in the area of hand therapy.
To be eligible for consideration in this role, you will need to be a registered physiotherapist holding a current APC. You will also have at least 10 years’ experience as a practising physiotherapist. A post graduate diploma or above will be required to apply for this role. You will be detail oriented and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills. A track record in assessment or evaluation would be an advantage.
The role provides an opportunity to join a committed and established pool of experienced physiotherapists who are inspired to work with the Board to achieve its goals and objectives of protecting the health and safety of members of the public.
Applications are assessed electronically; therefore, you will need a laptop or computer. Due to the amount of information, you will be required to read, it is recommended that you have a second screen or monitor available.
As this is a casual role training will be provided when an application suitable for your area of practise is received by the Board. Due to the contract nature of the role, work will be dependent on the volume of applications received.
