Wellington moves to COVID-19 alert level 2

Minister Chris Hipkins has announced that as a precautionary measure from 6pm Wednesday 23 June:

  • The Wellington region (Wellington, Wairarapa and Kāpiti Coast) will move to COVID-19 alert level 2, and move to practise under level 2 guidelines.
  • The rest of New Zealand will remain at COVID-19 alert level 1.

At this stage, these levels will be in place until 11:59pm on Sunday 27 June.

We will provide further updates when any changes to these alert levels are announced.
