New Specialist – Dr. Jacqui Clark

The Board welcomes Dr. Jacqui Clark as our tenth and newest registered Physiotherapy Specialist. Jacqui is a London-trained physiotherapist who has been working clinically in Tauranga for 20 years now.

She holds a joint-PhD through Manchester Metropolitan University United Kingdom and Vrije Universitei Brussel, Belgium. As an active member of the Pain in Motion international research collaboration, led by Professor Jo Nijs, Jacqui is a post-doctoral researcher in chronic pain with Vrije Universitei Brussel, Belgium.

She is an international post-graduate teacher and lecturer in persistent pain and a regular contributor on peer review panels for various academic journals. Jacqui serves on the Waikato Bay of Plenty Branch committee and initiated a new special interest group in Pain earlier this year. This new group meets bi-monthly and is growing in membership from around New Zealand. She hopes to have this SIG ratified by the PNZ after its first 12 months of meetings.

Her expertise is in persistent pain, sensory and movement dysfunctions, symptoms associated with changes in the way the brain processes sensory information, fibromyalgia and stress- and anxiety-related functional difficulties; and more. Jacqui is delighted to be the 10th Physiotherapy Specialist in New Zealand, and the first Specialist in Pain in the North Island. She looks forward to sharing her knowledge in pain rehabilitation through courses and seminars again very soon.
