It is that time of year when we take a pre-festive season breath and reflect on the year we have had. The past 12 months have been busy, with some major areas of our work undergoing review and development:
Complaints are a fundamental right of healthcare in New Zealand. Receiving a complaint is unsettling, but this is a normal part of working with patients – and an efficient and robust complaints process can help both your patients and your practice.
The recent changes to the Specialist scope of practice: Physiotherapy Specialist have now been implemented. In practical terms this means the application process has changed, and details can be seen on our Specialisation page.
Our fees for the 2017/18 practicing year have been published by the NZ Gazette, and can be viewed online.
The Health Practitioners Disciplinary Tribunal has published its decision following a hearing on 19 October 2016 between a Professional Conduct Committee appointed by the Physiotherapy Board and Tania Williams, a registered physiotherapist.
This is a new series of articles from the Board’s Professional Advisors that will focus on case studies of competence, conduct and health dealt with by the Board, with the hope that practitioners can learn from the experiences of others.
There’s a fortnight left to make your submission on the Board’s proposed set of Standards, which will set the expectation for specific areas of practice and conduct (e.g. Administering medicines in the absence of a Doctor).
