The Physiotherapy Board protects the health and safety of the public by ensuring our physiotherapists are competent and fit to practise. The Board meets requirements by registering and recertifying practitioners, setting competence to practise standards, reviewing practitioners when concerns are raised, and accrediting training institutions.
The Deputy Registrar is responsible for leading the team relating to registration and recertification, for having oversight of the workflow and systems and processes, and will participate in decision making. The appointee will work closely with the Registrar and contribute to Board reporting.
To be successful in this key position, you will be a proven team leader or manager and have gained experience working in a regulatory or health related environment. You must be a person who has exceptional judgement and attention to detail. You will be an effective communicator as you will be required to present to the Board as well as engaging directly with physiotherapists. This will require a calm and well organised person who is happy to take on additional responsibility when required. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential along with a passion for public protection.
