| Code of Consumers' Rights |
Physiotherapists are required to be aware of the Health Consumers code of rights (released under the Health and Disability Commissioner Act 1994).
The purpose of the Act is to promote and protect the rights of all health consumers, and to facilitate the fair, speedy, and efficient resolution of complaints relating to the infringements of the rights covered in the Code.
The Act establishes a range of complaint resolutions such as advocacy, mediation, and formal disciplinary hearings before the Complaints Review Tribunal or the Physiotherapy Board.
Further information on the code of rights can be obtained from the Health and Disability Commissioner. |
