The Physiotherapy Board of New Zealand was constituted by the Health Practitioners
Competence Assurance (HPCA) Act 2003. The primary function of the Physiotherapy
Board of New Zealand is to protect the health and safety of the public by providing mechanisms to
ensure that physiotherapists are registered, competent and fit to practise.
