All documents supplied to the Board must be originals or certified copies.


Documents that have not been correctly certified will not be accepted.


To have proof of legitimate documentation the Board asks that a certifer complies with all of the following:
1. Provide his/her full postal address to enable the Board to seek varification;
2. Sign the copy;
3. Print his/her name under the signature;
4. State his/her position or designation;
5. Endorse the copy with his/her official seal(where applicable);
6. Ensure the certified copy provided to the Board includes the statement: 'Certified true copy of original document sighted'.


In the case of applications for registration, failure to provide correctly certified documents will cause significant delays

What is a certified copy?

A certified copy is a photocopy of the original that has been certified as a true copy.

Who may certify a copy?

The issuing authority, an official such as a solicitor, notary public, Justice of the Peace or Commissioner for Oaths may certify a copy.

The Board will only accept documents certified by the following officials:

England, Wales and Northern Ireland:

Notary Public

Southern Ireland:

Lawyer
